Turns out, that kind of mastery isn’t limited to a galaxy far, far away. In the eDiscovery world, there are only ~400 Relativity Masters globally. For perspective, more people have been to space or summited the highest mountain on every continent (including Mt. Everest)!
Relativity Masters are the Jedi Masters of eDiscovery. And just like their galactic counterparts, that level of expertise isn’t built overnight—it’s earned.
⚔️ The Page One Jedi Council
The Jedi Council prioritized diversity, aiming to gather different perspectives and unique strengths to better understand the vast, complex will of the Force.
At Page One, that same dynamic comes from three very different—but highly complementary—Relativity Masters leading our team. And like any good council, each brings their own personality, approach, and style to the role.
So, in true May the Fourth fashion, we asked our Jedi Council the questions that really matter:
- Which Star Wars character are you?
- What color lightsaber do you carry?
- Where do you see the future of the eDiscovery galaxy heading?
👑 Princess, Commander, Rebel Leader… Relativity Master
Cassie Lesh, Sr. Project Manager, chose Leia—which feels less like a choice and more like a foregone conclusion.
Like Leia, Cassie operates where strategy and diplomacy meet execution. As both an attorney with complex civil litigation experience and a Relativity Master, she doesn’t just understand legal theory or data structure in isolation—she understands how decisions on one side immediately impact the other.
As a result, she designs Relativity workflows that aren’t just technically sound—they work under real deadlines, real scrutiny, and real opposing counsel. In other words, she’s been doing the Leia job for more than a decade… just with more data and fewer blasters.
When asked why Leia, she kept it simple: “I can be both a princess and a badass.”
Hard to argue with that.
And yes, her lightsaber choice absolutely matches that energy:
“If I get to pick… Darksaber!
Who wouldn’t want a powerful, one-of-a-kind, ancient blade that commands a Mandalorian army?”
Although, in true Jedi fashion, she did acknowledge the crystal would probably choose her as blue—a strong sense of justice, dependable, and not afraid to have strong opinions.
Which is exactly what the role demands. When you’re guiding high-stakes decisions, consistency and conviction matter just as much as speed.
Or, as she puts it:
“I’m the Jedi strategist advising the Republic’s most powerful councils—guiding them on how to harness the Force (Relativity) to navigate massive archives of galactic data with precision and speed.”
🐾 Loyal, Unshakeable, and Flying the Falcon… Relativity Master
Craig Treese, Vice President of eDiscovery, didn’t hesitate when choosing his Star Wars kindred spirit:
“Chewbacca—Punch it Chewy! RAWRGWAWGGR!”
That answer was immediate—and accurate. Chewbacca is fiercely loyal, dependable under pressure, and not someone you want to underestimate. He’s the one keeping everything running, solving problems mid-flight, and making sure the mission actually succeeds. Not always in the spotlight—but always essential.
That’s Craig.
Or, as he puts it: “Like Chewy, I have a big heart. I’m loyal to my team—and I like driving fast.”
Which, honestly, covers the essentials.
On the Falcon, Chewie’s role requires a steady hand and a deep understanding of how everything fits together. Craig brings that same approach to eDiscovery. With more than 20 years of experience managing complex matters, he’s worked across the full EDRM—from collection and processing through review, analytics, and production—and knows how to keep things moving when they get complicated.
Or, in his words:
“I’m the powerhouse that keeps the whole mission running… leading the charge or backing up the team when it matters most.”
And let’s be honest—every successful mission needs a Chewie. Loyal, dependable, a little feisty, and absolutely critical to getting the job done.
And his lightsaber choice?
Technically, Chewie never carried one—but we’ll allow it.
“Yellow.”
Of course. Yellow is often carried by Jedi Sentinels who were renowned for blending practical judgment, technical expertise, and a strong sense of duty to solve real-world problems. A fitting match for someone who keeps the process on track and the team covered.
🧠 Visionary, Mentor, Force Strategist … Relativity Grandmaster
Andrew Milauskas, Chief Operating Officer, approached the Star Wars comparison a little differently:
“I haven’t actually seen Star Wars.”
A bold admission.
But in true Andrew fashion, he still made the right call: “I’ll pick Yoda. He seems pretty cool, smart, and laid back at the same time.”
Not a bad pick for someone who hasn’t seen the movies.
Yoda isn’t just wise—he’s a direction-setting leader. A 900-year-old Jedi Master who led the Council, trained generations, and, importantly, understood something most overlook:
“Always in motion, is the future.”
That idea isn’t abstract—it’s the kind of forward-thinking you see in both Yoda and Andrew. eDiscovery isn’t slowing down, and AI is only accelerating the pace. Andrew leads with that in mind—guiding our team through rapid technological change and helping us stay ahead of it, not just keep up. It’s no wonder is a 2026 Relativity AI Visionary—one of just 20 thought leaders recognized for advancing innovation in legal technology.
But that’s not the only reason the comparison works.
Like Yoda, Andrew is a world-class leader and mentor. With more than 15 years of experience and one of the industry’s most comprehensive certification portfolios, he sets the standard for how the work gets done. And for his Padawans, there’s no mystery about how he sees it:
“Becoming a Master…takes real technical knowledge, curiosity, discipline, and a willingness to keep learning. But just as important, it requires humility. You have to keep sharpening your skills, ask good questions, and stay focused on outcomes—not ego.”
And his lightsaber choice?
“Green. Go Birds! #FlyEaglesFly”
Someone should probably tell him that Yoda also carried a green lightsaber.
Nonetheless, green lightsabers represent wisdom, balance, and a deep connection to the Force—often carried by those who prioritize insight, strategy, and guidance over brute force. Another surprisingly fitting match for Page One’s very own Grandmaster of the Jedi Council.
🚀 The Future of the eDiscovery Galaxy
If there’s one thing this Jedi Council agrees on, it’s this: AI isn’t just a new tool—it’s a new phase.
What started as early analytics and TAR has evolved into something far more powerful. As Andrew puts it, we’re seeing a “rebirth of AI… on a whole other level,” unlocking new speeds, new use cases, and entirely new ways of solving problems. This isn’t incremental—it’s a paradigm shift in how the work gets done.
But here’s the part most people miss.
For all its power, AI isn’t a magic button. It doesn’t replace strategy, and it doesn’t remove risk. As Andrew notes, “it’s powerful—but it still requires thoughtful people, strong workflows, and the right oversight.”
Craig echoes the same sentiment. There’s a common assumption that once the technology is in place, it will “just do the thing” by “automatically delivering fast, accurate, and defensible results.” In reality, “these tools are only as effective as the people guiding them.” Without clear objectives and experienced oversight, they can just as easily introduce risk as reduce it.
eDiscovery isn’t just getting faster—it’s getting smarter. The future of eDiscovery is about expert guidance, more defensible workflows, and intentional oversight of AI. As Cassie describes it: “AI is powerful—but it’s not self-governing. Skip the planning, and what starts as a quick job can spiral into a full-blown galactic situation.”
In other words, the Force is getting stronger—but it still takes a skilled Jedi to wield it. Or, better yet, a skilled Jedi Master.
And if you ask this Jedi Council, we’re ready for what’s next.
🌌 The Final Thought
In Star Wars, becoming a Master isn’t the end of the journey.
It’s when things actually start to matter.
The same is true here.
Because this work isn’t about certifications or titles—it’s about making the right decisions when the pressure is on, the data is messy, and the timeline is very real.
And if you’re choosing between a massive, highly structured Stormtrooper operation and a smaller team of experienced professionals who know how to use the Force…
Let’s just say—history’s been pretty clear on how that plays out. Even if not everyone on our Council has seen it firsthand.
